Role at a glance:
The Mid DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing security practices within our DevOps framework. This role involves collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to ensure the continuous delivery of secure software applications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DevOps, security best practices, and experience with modern development and deployment tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement security strategies for our CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrate security tools and processes into the DevOps lifecycle, including static and dynamic analysis, vulnerability scanning, and configuration management.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Conduct security assessments, code reviews, and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts, ensuring timely resolution.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, technologies, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on secure coding and DevOps practices.
- Create and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident responses.
- Participate in the design and implementation of automated security testing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on security.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Familiar with security tools such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, Snyk, or Nessus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their security features.
- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform) are a plus.
