About the Role
We are hiring a Technical Chief of Staff to work directly with our Cofounder & COO, who also leads product, to help drive execution, scale decision-making, and ensure delivery of key strategic initiatives. This role is a unique blend of Chief of Staff, Technical Program Manager (TPM), Project Manager, and Product Manager—ideal for someone who wants to operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and technology.
You'll partner closely with the Cofounder/COO to turn high-level vision into clear priorities, roadmaps, and outcomes. You’ll drive alignment across engineering, product, design, and GTM teams while keeping initiatives on track and teams unblocked. This role is high-impact, high-trust, and perfect for someone with strong systems thinking, excellent communication, and the ability to toggle between 30,000-foot strategy and ground-level execution.
This is an onsite role based out of our NYC HQ.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Strategic Partner to the Cofounder/COO
Work closely with the Cofounder/COO to translate product vision and business goals into clear, actionable roadmaps and delivery plans.
Help prioritize high-impact initiatives and ensure the organization is aligned and focused on the right work at the right time.
Support executive decision-making with structured insights, risk analysis, and scenario planning.
🔹 Technical Program & Project Management
Lead complex, cross-functional product initiatives from ideation to launch—owning timelines, milestones, resource planning, and delivery.
Establish program and project tracking systems to surface dependencies, manage risk, and provide visibility to stakeholders.
Ensure that product and engineering teams are operating with clarity, accountability, and velocity.
🔹 Product Execution & Problem Solving
Act as a thought partner on product strategy—bringing product sense, user empathy, and business context to discussions.
Collaborate with PMs and engineers to scope MVPs, define success metrics, and make trade-offs between tech complexity and business value.
Help unblock teams, clarify goals, and ensure feature and platform work is prioritized correctly.
🔹 Operational Effectiveness
Design and implement systems and processes to increase organizational effectiveness and cross-functional collaboration.
Run product operating cadences (e.g., weekly check-ins, roadmap reviews, product demos, launch retros) and ensure tight follow-through.
Own documentation, decision logs, and program artifacts to maintain organizational memory and transparency.
🔹 Leadership Support & Special Projects
Serve as a trusted proxy for the Cofounder/COO in selected meetings, product reviews, or cross-team conversations.
Lead special initiatives that don’t have a natural home—whether that’s scaling team infrastructure, evaluating new product opportunities, or driving change management.
Prepare executive-level presentations, internal updates, and materials for board or investor meetings.
What You’ll Bring
5–8 years of experience across Technical Program Management, Project Management, Product Management, or Chief of Staff roles in a fast-paced, technical environment.
Experience in a startup or growth-stage company, especially supporting founders or product/engineering leadership.
Strong technical fluency—you can talk to engineers, understand systems, and translate between technical and business language.
Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives from start to finish with high-quality outcomes.
Strong product intuition and customer focus; you know how to weigh business value, user needs, and technical constraints.
Exceptional communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, moving quickly, and making thoughtful decisions with incomplete information.
Not all candidates will check all of the requirements listed above and that’s ok! We are open to great people from non-traditional backgrounds.
Vendelux is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, gender, gender identity, parental or pregnancy status, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or veteran status.
