JOB SUMMARY

As a VP of Engineering & Product at WEVO, you will have a leadership role in the company and be responsible for the technical direction, architecture, software development lifecycle, and infrastructure powering WEVO’s products. You will develop and execute a strategy for productionizing and delivering capabilities that leverage state-of-the-art generative and agentic AI technologies to solve customer problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define, develop, and execute on a product roadmap that advances WEVO’s business objectives in collaboration with CEO and exec team.
• Work closely with the Chief Data Officer to deploy Generative AI and Agentic AI applications.
• Own the development lifecycle from requirements gathering to delivery.
• Scope, design, guide the development of, and deploy solutions that are secure, scalable and compliant.
• Own the continued security and compliance of the platform.
• Actively contribute to planning and review processes and define OKRs for the product.
• Hire, lead, and mentor an agile development team and ensure best practices.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience with at least 5 years of experience leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Prior startup experience - we’re looking for a candidate who can ramp up fast, make decisions in high-uncertainty environments.
• Track record of successfully launching innovative software products in a fast-paced environment.
• Recent experience managing small teams of engineers.
• Prior experience with programming languages and frameworks like Python/Flask/Django, Javascript/Typescript/NodeJs.
• Expertise in SQL, data modeling approaches, and experience managing, monitoring, and scaling relational databases (we use PostgreSQL, but any flavor of relational database is acceptable).
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-based architectures. We use AWS, so prior experience with AWS is a plus, specifically a knowledge of AWS services, including IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, and SQS
• The ideal candidate will be based in Boston and be available to work in the office two days a week.
